Rick Wakeman: Album by Album Overview

I actually posted a link to one of these articles months ago, but due to my silliness I overlooked the fact that they were part of a series. So here is the first of the series, and links on the page will not only take you to overviews of all Rick's albums (they have reached the mid 1990s at the moment), but also Yes' albums with and without him. While Rick Wakeman is probably best known as the flamboyant keyboardist in Yes, he's had an active solo career since the 1970s.

Many people probably think of Rick Wakeman as the keyboardist in progressive rock band Yes. He played in a lesser known folk prog outfit called "The Strawbs" before joining Yes in 1971. He's also done session work with artists as diverse as Black Sabbath, David Bowie and Elton John.

In the midst of all that musical activity Wakeman has also found the time to pursue a solo career. Surprisingly, he's been quite prolific in his solo output. In fact, looking at the first decade (the 1970s) alone, shows Wakeman releasing eight solo albums.

...BECAUSE SOME OF US THINK THAT THIS STUFF IS IMPORTANT
What happens when you mix what is - arguably - the world's most interesting record company, with an anarchist manic-depressive rock music historian polymath, and a method of dissemination which means that a daily rock-music magazine can be almost instantaneous?

Most of this blog is related in some way to the music, books and films produced by Gonzo Multimedia, but the editor has a grasshopper mind and so also writes about all sorts of cultural issues which interest him, and which he hopes will interest you as well.
